Indulge in the Uniquely Singapore Experience

Indulge in the Uniquely Singapore Experience

I’ve been here in the Philippines since I was born. And I never had a chance to visit other countries. So, when Nuffnung emailed me about “Nuffnang Blogging Contest - Win your way down to Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards '09!”, it caught my attention.

Surprisingly Prizes includes:

  • A Pair of invites to the Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 23rd October 2009.
  • Transportation and accommodation will be provided
  • Bloggers" tour: A sponsored and planned itinerary on 24th October 2009, including attractive tourist and local destinations.
  • A scrumptious 4-course meal at the Pan Pacific Hotel!
  • AND SGD $5000 CASH PRIZE!

This is a great opportunity for me to get into Asia-Pacific Blog Awards which will be held in Singapore.

I heard Singapore is a very beautiful place to go. If I would be given a chance, definitely, I wouldn’t waste time. I want to experience the rich blend in their culture, cuisine, arts and architecture.

So, I researched some tourist attraction in Singapore where I want to go.

By the way, I am going to use photos from different sources because I don’t have my own. If I got this chance, I will take photos to see how beautiful Singapore is.

Thinking what Singapore would be makes my heart burst out. I’m so excited. To start of with my dream, one day and one night in Singapore, this is the places I want to go.

Morning :D
Early in the morning, I like to go for a walk at Dragon Trail in Sentosa. This will be a great morning to start and be ready to explore Singapore.

Sentosa - Nature Walk & Dragon Trail

Next is the Underwater World. I want to explore the deep at the Asia's largest tropical oceanarium. It is amazing to see various kinds of sea creatures at a distance without getting wet. A very nice and cool place to go.

Before going to our next stop, I will take some walk around and maybe find some Satay and other different street foods to eat.  Satay is a dish consisting of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, fish, tofu, or other meats. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings. I would love to try this one.

Next stop is the Tiger Sky Tower. I want to see the beauty of Singapore from above. Thinking of just being inside Tiger Sky Tower makes me excited.

Near the Tiger Sky Tower is a cable car that will bring you to the other side which is Mount Faber. I want to take a round trip and indulge in the uniquely Singapore experience.

Okay, let us take a review. After taking a good walk at Dragon Trail, I will go to the Underwater World and the Tiger Sky Tower. Then, take a cable car ride going to Mount Faber. I think that is enough for the morning trip. Let us eat lunch.

Lunch Time :D
After a cable car ride, I want to eat in the Tastes of Singapore. Maybe, this will be a late lunch.

I want to taste the Singapore local cuisine like Char kway teow. Char kway teow is a popular noodle dish in Malaysia and Singapore.

Another food I want to try is Claypot chicken rice. It is typically served with Chinese sausage and vegetables. More often than not, the rice is cooked in the claypot first and cooked ingredients like diced chicken and Chinese sausage are added in later.

For desserts, I want to try Chendol Ais, a coconut milk drink mixed with palm sugar, cendol (green, pandan-flavored starch strips), and shaved ice. Modern variants may include more elaborate ingredients such as red bean.

After lunch, let us take a walk around Merlion. This is the most important place I should go and should not miss. The Merlion is the trademark symbol of Singapore. I would take some picture of Merlion and me.

It is time to go back to the hotel to change clothes and charge some batteries. Get ready for the next stop.

Next stop is the Little India. It's primary attraction is the town itself. You can find some gaily painted shophouses that are an icon of Singapore. I want to see the oldest and most popular Hindu temples in Singapore like Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple.

Next stop is the China Town. It is the traditional Chinese quarters of the town. While the entire city is largely Chinese, the area does retain some of its own charm. I just want to take some pictures of people and stores there. And buy some souvenirs, too.

I want to see some of the temples there. I will go to the Hawkers in Smith Street and eat some street foods like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Popiahs, Laksa, and many more.

Next, the Singapore Flyer which is the Singapore's newest tourist trap. This 150-meter-tall observation wheel modeled on the London Eye is no less than the world's tallest. I want to experience the breathtaking, panoramic views of Singapore and the magnificent Marina Bay, Singapore's soaring skyscrapers, and a non-stop action against the beautiful skies.

Dinner :D
I like to go to the River and eat dinner in Hawker Centres.  I heard that Gluttons Bay and Lau Pa Sat (near the River) are the most popular options. It is nice to eat some seafoods in the River side. I would love to try the Barbecued stingray, Chili crab, and Oyster omelete.

After eating, I want to stroll and wonder around taking some pictures. Feeling like it is not my first time in Singapore. Maybe, go to the nearest bar and Indulge in the Uniquely Singapore Experience.
